The Challenge: Designing for Everyone
With international clients and users spanning a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, Hireflix knew that digital accessibility was essential—not only for compliance with global standards like WCAG and Section 508, but also as part of delivering a fair and respectful experience for every candidate.
However, as with many fast-growing SaaS platforms, internal resources were focused on product innovation. The Hireflix team sought an experienced accessibility partner to assess the current state of the platform, identify gaps, and deliver actionable guidance without bogging down internal workflows.

Our Approach

TestPros conducted a full-scope accessibility audit that included:
- Manual Testing using screen readers like JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
- Keyboard-Only Navigation Testing to ensure all controls were accessible without a mouse
- Automated Testing with aXe and AMP to flag code-level issues
- Environment Coverage: Testing was performed across Chrome, iOS, and Android platforms
We applied WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 standards, using a “test-to-the-standard” approach backed by the DHS Trusted Tester methodology.
Our team assessed the candidate-facing experience, including the core interview portal and associated questionnaire workflows. Particular attention was paid to real-world user scenarios: Could a screen reader user complete an interview? Could keyboard-only users navigate and submit responses? Were visual and cognitive accessibility needs accounted for?
Deliverables
TestPros delivered a complete package of accessibility assessment artifacts, including:
- Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR/VPAT): A high-level summary of conformance with each WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 requirement.
- Supplemental Accessibility Report (SAR): A detailed document listing each issue with context, affected standard(s), supporting screenshots, and recommended remediation.
- Audit Results Spreadsheet: A page-level breakdown of where each issue was found across the web and mobile platforms.
- Post-Audit Review Meeting: A working session with Hireflix’s DevOps and product teams to walk through the findings and remediation guidance.
Looking Ahead
As accessibility becomes an expected standard for digital hiring tools, Hireflix is well-positioned for the future. The company plans to integrate accessibility reviews into its product development cycle and has the foundational documentation in place (including its VPAT) to share with enterprise and government clients.
